The first appointment is an opportunity to have a thorough assessment of the food you eat alongside your eating patterns, work environment, exercise, sleep, stress, medical/family history, medications, blood tests and bowel pattern to ensure a holistic approach. This information enables a discussion on what ‘tweaks’ need to be considered to ensure optimum health that work for you and are ultimately sustainable.
I often ask for a 3 day diary before the appointment to allow for some insights to ensure we make the most of the appointment.
The review appointments allow us to discuss what is working and what is not to allow for tweaks to ensure they meet the nutritional needs as well as suit your lifestyle to ultimately ensure that the changes are sustainable. You may be asked to maintain a food and/or symptom diary before your review appointment to help me decide the next best step in your care pathway and this will help tailor the 'tweaks' going forward.
After your appointment, I will write a summary letter and usually one to your GP if you agree, which will include your action plan. You’ll receive this letter within 5 working days to your preferred email address.
Either call me directly on 0467 201 853 or book online here on the website. I work during the week from 9am to 3pm and until 5pm on Thursday for school clients. I can open on Saturday morning if necessary.
This will vary for each individual and will be discussed at your first consultation in more detail.
As a guide:
For IBS I normally recommend three appointments.
For Coeliac disease I recommend 6 or 12 monthly reviews depending on your blood tests.
For other conditions I will discuss this with you personally.
The first appointment is $170 for 1 hour up to 1.5 hours.
The review appointments are $120 for 45 minutes up to an 1 hour.
I operate on a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you can no longer make your appointment, please let me know via email or call at least 48 hours before. I kindly ask all clients to respect this policy so I can continue to provide a high quality service and allow others on my waiting list to fill the sessions. For cancellations or requests to change less than 48 hours before your appointment, or for non-attendance, I usually apply a $50 cancellation fee unless it is out of your control.
The rebates that are calculated varies depending on the cover of the policy you have.
Yes you can if you are eligible for the Chronic Disease Management Plan and your GP decides to allocate some appointments as part of an EPC plan. You are eligible for up to x5 dietitian appointments in a calendar year. Though as this allowance is spread across other allied health professionals you may be commonly allocated 1-3 appointments. The current Medicare schedule fee for dietetic services is $55.10 per session.
No. You do not need a referral from a doctor. However if you would like to access dietitian rebates from Medicare you need a Chronic Disease Plan (EPC plan) and a referral letter from your GP.
